About World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is commemorated each year on 1st December as a global moment of solidarity, remembrance, and action in the ongoing response to HIV. In Papua New Guinea, the day carries a unique importance. Our country continues to face one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the Pacific, and World AIDS Day provides an opportunity to bring communities, leaders, and partners together to renew commitment, strengthen awareness, and support those living with and affected by HIV.
